The NetSec team strives to protect the ResHall network and hosts on the RSSP network through takedown of hostile hosts, enforcement of the Campus Minimum Security Standards, and enforcement of ResComp bandwidth policies.
In addition, we make it a priority to ensure the safety of student data stored on and transferred through our servers by enforcing strict security standards on all our servers and workstations through intrusive and non-intrusive scanning of our systems and audits of servers. Furthermore, we closely scrutinize infected workstations and staff computers to pinpoint the cause of infection and the amount of data loss, if any.
The NetSec Team also aims to educate residents and staff on security awareness, taking both reactive and proactive approaches to achieve ultimate security.
