Congratulations on making it to Cal! Regardless of your intended academic path, a computer will be important in your career as a student. Residential Computing, also known as ResComp, is here to support your computing needs. We provide a variety of services to every resident in the Residence Halls and student/family apartments at no additional cost. During your time in the residence halls, ResComp will be your network and technical support provider.
ResComp provides a high-speed, wired network connection in the residence halls for easy access to the Internet. Our network is always on and your computer is always connected. One wired connection per student is provided in each residence hall room and in each family housing apartment. Information about minimum computer requirements, equipment and software you'll need, and other information about computing resources is provided in the pages above.
