Thank you for your interest in working at Residential Computing! We're a dynamic workplace where students gain real-life work experience dealing with the same issues they face after graduation. We feature a fun and relaxed atmosphere with flexible hours, competitive pay, challenges, and opportunities for a head start after graduation. We are fully staffed by students in a variety of majors and backgrounds.
About Hiring at ResComp
Residential Computing is composed of two groups of staff. For an in-depth look at working at Residential Computing, check out our featured pages for the two groups below:
- RCC Staff: Provide front-line technical assistance to residents in the Residence Halls.
- Senior Staff: Provide support to the organization as a whole through supervising our RCCs, administering our client and server systems, writing our software, marketing our services, and providing administrative support.
Hiring Timeline
As a student-staffed workforce, we usually only retain approximately half of our staff from year to year. We traditionally hold a round of hiring during the middle of the spring semester. Senior staff is hired before RCC staff.
Sometimes, we have a few open Senior Staff positions at the end of the fall semester. Please check back for open positions at that time. We usually do not hire RCCs before the Spring Hiring Cycle, as we retain a pool of alternates from the previous hiring cycle. To get a better idea of when to check back for open hiring, here is a schedule of our general hiring phases:
