Stay Connected: ResComp Policies

In order to provide equitable, secure and reliable Internet connectivity, Residential Computing has established the following policies.

Bandwidth

Bandwidth is the communication capacity of an electronic pathway and is a shared resoure for all users. Residential Computing applies a weekly cap of 12 gigabytes for combined uploads and downloads per contracted resident.

Filesharing

We encourage you to use legal services to obtain media. Downloading copyrighted material without permission is against the law, and could result in legal action, such as a take-down notice, early settlement letter, or a subpoena. Get your media fix: Some legal downloading and streaming services include iTunes, Netflix, and Rhapsody. For more legal resources, click here.
